Tertiary education is any certified education after secondary school. It includes vocational training, workplace learning, industry certifications, graduate and post-graduate study, and research.

Quality assurance categories for tertiary education organisations (other than universities) linked to external evaluation and review results. There are four categories.

Training schemes were stand-alone awards with defined learning outcomes. They were replaced by micro-credentials in 2023.

If a new qualification affects an existing qualification, there need to be transition arrangements.
Transition arrangments need to make sure that no learners are disadvantaged by the qualification changing, and that current learners have a clear pathway and enough time to complete.
