Achievement (Achieved) Paetae
If a student meets the requirements of a standard at a satisfactory level they gain an Achieved (A) grade for that standard.

A desired learning outcome that is consistent with the New Zealand Curriculum.

Achievement standard Paerewa paetae
We assess student achievement in secondary schools through national achievement standards. They reflect the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, and count towards the National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA) at levels 1, 2 and 3.
Achievement standards have learning outcomes and achievement criteria to allow consistent marking. They contain information on how to deliver and assess the standards. Most achievement standards allow three types of performance: Achievement, Merit, and Excellence.

Achievement with Excellence (Excellence) Kairangi
If a student meets the requirements of an achievement standard at an outstanding level they gain an Excellence (E) grade for that standard.

Achievement with Merit (Merit) Kaiaka
If a student meets the requirements of an achievement standard at a very good performance level they gain a Merit (M) grade for that standard.

A way that students can enter a New Zealand university if they don't meet the common entrance standard. This could be because they did secondary school outside of New Zealand or studied something in New Zealand that doesn't meet the common entrance standard.

Approval (programme) Whakamana (h艒taka)
Approval of a programme shows that it leads to a qualification on the NZQCF. The programme meets all the outcomes and aims of the qualification and reflects all the content and how it's assessed.
An approved programme also meets all other 色诱直播 rules that apply to the programme.
