About Te Ao Haka

Nau mai, haere mai!

Te Ao Haka is a performance-based subject that combines traditional and contemporary culture. It provides opportunities for ākonga to engage in ǰ culture, language and traditional practice. Ākonga learn their whakapapa, history and language through the medium of haka. 

Ākonga can use Te Ao Haka credits towards NCEA and University Entrance (UE). Te Ao Haka is also a New Zealand Scholarship subject

Internal assessment

External moderation is facilitated through kāhui. During or following kāhui, kaitakawaenga prepare moderation reports and develop exemplars for internally assessed achievement standards.
