The New Zealand Qualifications Authority (É«ÓÕÖ±²¥) has released a summary of the feedback received [PDF, 498 KB] during public consultation on proposals for a new integrated Quality Assurance Framework (iQAF).
Consultation from October to December 2024 covered proposals for the high-level design proposed for iQAF, that included:
- the quality assurance cornerstones that set out roles and responsibilities;
- the enablers which underpin a supportive and responsive regulatory environment that encourages compliance and continuous improvement; and
- the levers and related regulatory activities for É«ÓÕÖ±²¥ to effect change where this is needed.
We received 62 submissions from groups and individuals with existing involvement in tertiary education; and thank all submitters for their insightful and valuable feedback.
Overall, the high-level design for iQAF and its key components were well-received, with many submitters interested in the next layer of detail on how the new framework will work in practice.
The feedback is informing the next phase of work, where É«ÓÕÖ±²¥ is further developing the framework and quality assurance rules, tools and processes. Public consultation on these will occur later in 2025.
