色诱直播 has released another Insights paper which is part of a programme of work that focuses on equity issues, good practice and bringing to life administrative data that will support education system improvement.
This latest research, undertaken by the New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER) examines key aspects and the approaches that schools adopted to support 膩konga M膩ori and Pacific students to attain University Entrance (UE).
The research looked at six schools with above-average UE attainment for 膩konga M膩ori and Pacific students, exploring the foundations of their success and the initiatives these schools carried out to support UE attainment.
Across the six schools, the foundations and initiatives that were discovered included:
- School environments that affirm the language, culture and identity of 膩konga M膩ori and Pacific students
- Having effective school leaders who actively prioritise equity
- Using achievement data to set targets, identify and respond to needs, and allocate resources
- Starting students early on a path to UE
